 Centrifuge used in laboratory:

Sisal bacteria in the liquid are collected by a centrifuge machine at the bottom of the test tube. The higher the speed of rotation, the more times a lighter weight particle is deposited in the layer.

Centrifuge two ways:

A centrifuge machine is used in the laboratory for the following two ways:

1- For general purpose

2. Hematocrit centrifuge

1- Centrifuging for analytical or general purposes:

A centrifuge machine is used for the following:

a)Before conducting urine/CSF (cerebral clearance fluid) microscopy, specifically to look for the presence of bacteria or parasites.

b)To separate serum from blood for use in further tests or matching etc.

2) Hematocrit Centrifuge:

A hematocrit centrifuge is essential for the following tests:

a) Diagnosis of Anemia

b) For PCV and MCHC

Especially for diagnosis of parasites in blood:

Microfilariae

Trypanosoma

Precautions in using centrifuge:

Modern centrifuges are available today. They have balance lock and braking systems

Operators of old centrifuges do not have access to facilities, so special precautions are required for them, which are as follows:

1- Always place the centrifuge on a flat surface and do not place anything else within one foot of the surrounding area.

2- Follow the information provided by the manufacturer about the use of the centrifuge machine and take special care to clean the machine.

3- It is better to use plastic tube instead of glass in centrifuge. By using a bar in a glass tube centrifuge Avoid it as the risks of breakage are high.

4- If using a glass tube, choose a tube with a thick bottom layer and dry the glass before placing it in the centrifuge. Test the tube and use it. No, there is no crack on it.

5- Be careful not to use a long tube in the centrifuge because there are more chances of it breaking.

6- Before placing the tube in the centrifuge, make sure that there is no cotton or cock in its mouth. will go inside the tube and discard the sample.

7- Before operating the centrifuge, make sure that it is in balance or not.

8. Do not centrifuge a sample for more than the recommended speed and time.

 9. When the time of centrifuge is completed, do not try to stop the machine by hand, but wait for it to stop by itself.

10- Be careful not to open the cover of the centrifuge until the motor stops.

11- The centrifuge must be cleaned of stains on the lid and tube holder after use.
